The Department of Leadership is seeking a colleague at the assistant/associate professor level with demonstrated skills in addressing important issues in higher education. Required qualifications include:

• A Ph.D. or equivalent in higher education
• Interest and expertise in one or more of the following areas as they relate to higher education: leadership theory, community colleges, law, finance, and/or administration
• Experience using instructional technology, including course management systems, to augment instruction and advising
• Ability to work cooperatively with diverse students, faculty and administrators
Additional preferred experiences include:
• Experience as a higher education administrator
• Experience teaching masters and doctoral level courses in higher education
• Experience using quantitative and qualitative research methods preferred.
• Experience advising master’s and doctoral student research
• Demonstrated research productivity in refereed journals

The successful candidate will be appointed as a tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Leadership and must qualify to chair dissertations. ABDs will not be considered. He or she will be expected to teach graduate courses, provide leadership in graduate programs in Higher Education and Adult Education in West Tennessee, recruit and mentor students, develop or continue a significant program of scholarly research and publications, seek external funding to support his or her scholarly work, and serve on various committees. He or she will be expected to use a variety of formats for instructional delivery including weekend, online, and hybrid courses and be available to teach on the Memphis and Jackson campuses of the University of Memphis.
